Timber is a natural material that gives you the chance to influence the character and style of your home. The IV68 turn & tilt system eliminates the old problems associated with timber joinery such as drafts, security issues, sashes jamming on frames and condensation. Timber gives a feeling of robustness and security.
Aside from the obvious benefits of aesthetic appeal and character, timber windows and doors have several more benefits over PVC and aluminium.
Timber is far more stable in a range of climates. It does not shrink and expand as much as aluminium or PVC can in temperature fluctuations. Our timber windows will not jam and will remain completely draught free.
Timber offers the best thermal insulation. At 68 mm thick our timber profile is the perfect partner to insulating glass units to provide outstanding thermal performance.
Timber windows, while requiring surface maintenance every 4 to 8 years, will remain looking beautiful for decades. PVC may become brittle and aluminium may become dated, draughty and faded.
Timber requires far less energy to produce than PVC or aluminium and is a natural, renewable resource.
Timber is a material that has stood the test of time.
What we use in our timber joinery:
The timbers we most commonly use include Western Red Cedar, NZ grown Thermowood, Accoya and Macrocarpa, however we are happy to work with other timbers if you have a preference, as long as durability and strength requirements can be met.
We also offer the option of a laminate with one of these more durable timbers on the exterior and a choice of luxury (native or other) timber on the interior.
This may allow the joinery to compliment other timber in the house such as flooring, kitchens or furniture.
