Our construction techniques are unique here in NZ. We use a system termed IV68 which has been used in Europe for decades and is well proven to be strong, secure and extremely weather tight. This system is designed with double glazing in mind and has the necessary drainage holes required to make sure the glazing unit is not compromised.
All windows and doors are constructed from a broad and robust timber profile. This profile is much thicker than most used in traditional NZ joinery. This makes the frames and sashes to be extremely stable, increases the thermal barrier and allows us maximum air space with our insulating glass units.
Corners of both frame and sash are constructed using a series of through tenons, creating an unbreakable joint . A vee joint on the exterior of the corners allows for extra protection of the joint when the unit is painted or stained.
A continuous, non-perishable rubber seal is incorporated around each sash, this seal is compressed when the unit is closed to maintain the thermal benefits created by the timber and insulating glass units. This seal is compressed when the unit is closed.

Glazing units are kept independent of the timber sash via the installation of foam glazing tape and sealant on both the inside and outside of the sash.
All glazing beads are fixed on the inside of the unit which eliminates the possibility of weather distorting them and decreases the risk of leaks and potential break ins.
Hardware is integrated into the unit, meaning locks can not be seen when the unit is closed or accessed readily by intruders.
An aluminium storm water profile at the base of the window allows rain/ moisture to drain freely away from the window onto the sill.
